Alison Hadavi

Licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN, RD), through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

Healthy eating, being physically active and living a life in balance are integral components of my lifestyle and the core of my philosophy. As a licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), I am a holistic-minded nutritionist promoting whole, real food nutrition principles through counseling.

I utilize and transform evidenced-based practices into simple, easy to understand terms to provide clients with the knowledge and tools to achieve nutrition goals through creating long-lasting lifestyle habits. I am an expert in knowing that what we eat and how we treat our bodies has a significant impact on our immediate and long-term health.

My approach to nutritional counseling is that we all are different and nutrition must be tailored to each individual’s needs. I encourage my clients to eliminate the word diet and focus on making healthy lifestyle changes that are realistic and sustainable.

Leading a healthy lifestyle does not translate into giving up everything you love – it’s about finding and implementing changes that work for you so that you can enjoy a favorite dessert or a glass of wine every so often without feelings of guilt. Through guided nutrition coaching, personalized meal planning, intuitive and mindful eating behaviors, I will help you learn to implement practical, sustainable lifestyle changes – no deprivation required.

Understanding what your life ‘balance’ looks like helps you regain control of your choices. Once we are able to focus on what makes us feel healthy both mentally and physically, the decision to make the healthier choices becomes easier, too.

I began my journey into dietetics with the vision that the power of food as medicine can truly have an effect on disease and that treatment of illness is not “one size fits all.” Dealing with autoimmune issues and chronic illness ignited my interest in the treatment of conditions through nutrition therapy.

My enthusiasm for being an active participant in my own health is the driving force for me to counsel others through methods utilizing whole foods, simple meals and customized recommendations to fit your lifestyle and your needs to reach your optimal health.

I have two Bachelor of Science degrees including a B.S. in Human Nutrition-Dietetics from Metropolitan State University of Denver and completed my dietetics training through the Graduate School at Iowa State University’s Dietetic Internship program.

Past experience includes working with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) sport nutrition dietitians in both food service and nutrition counseling at the Olympic Training Center and in clinical dietetics at University of California San Diego (UCSD) Health.

Prior to becoming an RDN, I worked in the public relations industry for many years after earning a B.S. from the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Always an avid sports enthusiast, I enjoy leading an active lifestyle through working out at Orange Theory Fitness and participating in numerous outdoor activities including skiing, running and riding my bike along the beach near my home in San Diego.
