Hi there! My name is Sarah Henry, and I am a Certified Health and Wellness Coach who specializes in helping motivated but busy individuals who are desperately ready for change but don’t know how or where to begin. I have always had a passion for health and wellness, as well as an interest in the connection between mind and body.
I studied psychology at the University of Toledo (Ohio), and then went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Public Health in 2007 from the Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health. After moving to Denver, Colorado, I fell in love with hiking, snowshoeing, and finding creative ways to stay active outdoors.
With a newly-discovered passion for fitness and sports medicine, I worked for a few years as an orthopedic research consultant. My interactions with patients re-ignited my interest in helping others to live their best lives. I noticed that many of my patients suffered from a variety of chronic diseases; depression and anxiety; low energy; and an overall dissatisfaction with their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
These observations encouraged me to finally pursue my desire for helping others. With the support of my husband, Pete, I earned my Master’s Degree in Psychology in 2016, and then went on to become a Certified Health and Wellness Coach through the Wellcoaches School of Coaching.
While coaching is more future-focused and goal-oriented than counseling, I draw from my psychology education when working with clients. My empathetic approach is deeply rooted in the philosophies of Positive Psychology, which focuses on helping clients to flourish and to lead their best lives through optimal functioning. I coach clients to develop and work towards small, attainable goals meant for creating lasting change for the better, and I enjoy celebrating with them when they are successful!
In my spare time, you can find me whipping up a nutritious meal for friends and family at home in Denver, reading, practicing yoga, or hiking in the Rocky Mountains.
