How to Make Losing Weight & Getting Healthy Exciting!

With all the different diet approaches and weight loss methods out there, it can be a challenge to decipher which is the right one for you.

Over the years I’ve spent exploring varying diets and lifestyle philosophies, I’ve discovered that there is no cookie cutter, one-size fits all approach to weight loss and overhauling health. However, there are a variety of techniques that can support you in your unique path to happiness and healthy living.

One of these techniques is what is commonly called ‘The Law of Attraction.’

This proposal has been made popular by many spiritual and psychological books and teachers. It encompasses the idea that what you place your focus and attention on is what you attract into your life. How does this apply to weight loss and dietary changes?

Many people who have tried dieting or restricting their food in the past are appalled at the idea of taking on such an endeavor again. Generally with many fasts, cleanses or diets, the focus goes into a place of scarcity; what am I not eating today? What can’t I have or what don’t I have?

However, rather than focusing on what you don’t want to let in, it is so much more enjoyable and exciting to focus on what you can have and the beautiful things you are creating in your life by choosing this new action or behavioral pattern.

For example, when I completed my first 40-day Ayurvedic green cleanse, I found the experience much more liberating than expected. The primary reason being that I had a wealth of choices I could consume and explore during the green cleanse process.

My focus was more on being creative with a new food regime and learning about all the varieties of green foods and their health benefits as opposed to focusing on foods I was unable to consume. This made the experience enjoyable, manageable and I was more able to commit to completing the cleanse for the full forty days.

In addition, I crowded into my life other positive habits such as increasing the amount of yoga I was doing and focusing more of my time on creative projects and endeavors.

Through turning your attention to seeing the positive of the situation, you’ll receive a new source of energy, motivation and passion and will think much less about whatever unhealthy habits or behaviors you are letting go of.

Thus, my invitation to you when looking to make a major lifestyle shift is to release focusing on whatever you are letting go of and practice concentrating on what you are calling in and creating for yourself. What will this new healthy habit or pattern do for you? Visualize the person you will be as a result of making this change in your life.

Feel and see all the incredible opportunities that will come your way when you are healthy, happy and joyful in the skin you’re in. Then watch as your life transforms and you eventually become that version of yourself you have been dreaming of!
